Chapman & Hall,, 1860. 8vo., Second Edition, with chromolithographed frontispiece and 15 chromolithographed plates; attractively bound in full late nineteenth century sand calf BY BICKERS, sides with double frame border stopped at corners with rosettes all in gilt, upper board with Uppingham and Oakham School crest blocked in gilt, back with raised bands, second compartment with green leather label ruled and lettered in gilt, all other compartments tooled in gilt with floral spray, marbled edges, marbled endpapers, a remarkably bright, crisp copy in handsome period binding. The binding is signed on front free endpaper verso; small personal book-label on rear paste-down. Crisp copy of a sporting classic, first published in 1852. This edition is both revised and enlarged, with a new Preface and retaining the preface to the first edition.
