Baker, believed that proper attention had not been paid to ancient furniture and that 'a knowledge of the art forms and techniques of the past is essential to an understanding of the present&apos. Contents focus upon Egypt, The Near East, and the Aegean, with chapters such as 'The Early Beginnings', 'The Furniture of Hetepheres', 'Household furniture types', and 'The Minoan ascendancy&apos.Written by Hollis S.
