Written by British ornithologists David Armitage Bannerman and his second wife, Winifred Mary Jane Holland. David was appointed the Curator of the British Museum of Natural History, now know as the Natural History Museum, from 1919 to 1952. Illustrated by David Morrison Reid Henry, a British illustrator of birds, George Lodge, Phillip Alexander Clancey, a Scottish ornithologist considered a leading authority on the ornithology of South Africa, and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe, an English naturalistic painter renowned for his work on birds and British wildlife. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear only. Original unclipped dust wrappers are also smart with light shelf wear and the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and the odd mark to the board.
