Who owns all these books?
Antiqbook is a books database where antiquarians and second hand booksellers list their books. If you order a book an email will be sent to the bookseller, and the whole financial transaction is a case between you and the bookseller.

How exactly can I order a book?
If you are interested in a listed book, you can click on ‘order this book’ or ‘more information’. If you click on ‘order this book’ you will be directed to a secured orderform. Please enter your credentials and click on the button to send your order to the bookseller. An email with your order will be sent to the bookseller and a copy to you.
In case you asked for ‘more information’ you will get all information about the book and the bookseller displayed with the choice either to order the book or to ask the bookseller a question.
You also can choose between a secured and a non-secured page for ordering a book. Please always use the secured page when you have to submit your credit card data.

How does the protection of credit card data work?
As soon as you click on ‘send to’ your credit card data are encrypted before they will be sent to Antiqbook. Your credit card data are not sent by email to the bookseller. The bookseller has to log in to our secured pages and can only see your data with a password we supplied her or him. Antiqbook does not keep the credit card data.

Do I need a credit card to order a book?
A credit card can be quite useful, but it is also possible to pay by bank or giro (Europe). Please send an email to the bookseller and ask how to arrange payment. She or he will be helpful to find a way to pay.
Please read the ‘Conditions of Sale’ to know what the bookseller expects from you and what you can expect from the bookseller.

What do all the abbreviations used in book descriptions mean?
In a lot of book descriptions you will find abbreviations. Most of them were in use at the time when antiquarians were publishing printed catalogs to avoid using too much space. If the abbreviations are not clear, please ask the bookseller for an explanation. She or he will be happy to answer your question.

I did not find the book I am searching for. What to do?
All bookstores that are listing their books at Antiqbook do have more books than are listed. A good way to find your desired title is to pick a bookseller that is specialized in your subject. Antiqbook has a list of specializations, so it will be easy to find that particular bookseller. Please do not hesitate to do this: for an antiquarian it is a joy to search around for books.

Internet is impersonal. Could I also phone?
It seems impersonal to buy books at home behind your computer. But… you do not order at a machine: at the other end is also a real human being behind his or her computer to help you with your questions or to prepare your order.
Of course you can make a phone call or drop in. Please make an appointment by e-mail so the bookseller can prepare for your visit or call.
