London HMSO 1873. Foolscap, stitched as issued; [2],9pp. ¶ R.H. Codrington of the Melanesian Mission reports on his 'person inquiry' into methods of procuring labour. There follows replies to Codrington, his further letters and some defensive responses from the Governor of Queensland. Much of what Codrington writes is about the behavior of the 'native agent' or interpreter Wenlolo.
