Fine/No Jacket.¶ Etched reward of merit showing a group of people surrounding a stone on which the reward message is written. They are witnessing a Montgolfier type balloon flight over London, recognizable because we see St.Paul's and one of Wren's churches, other buildings a bridge and the harbor with boats. The reward is made out "Master John Winship because he excelled those of his class in the art of spelling." The reward is dated Dec. 24th, 1808. Ergo probably printed not too long before that date..
