The only other work listed for him is his new American edition, extensively revised of Prout's "Inquiry into the nature and treatment of diabetes.." This work deals with asphyxiation and death and the possiblilities for revival. It includes original experiments which were performed on cats, one of which, in which a current of electricity passing through the heart of a dead cat, revived its movement, is a very early example of a currently used means of resuscitation.
