Dmitrii Kaigorodov (1846-1924) was a Russian professor, the "father" of Russian Phenology, writer, and one of the most respected specialists in forest technology and ornithology. He was the author of numerous scientific papers, manuals, and books including his current work, part of his series on Russian flora, which focused on plants blooming in the summer. Each plant was described with its specific characteristics, habitat, and uses and medicinal purposes (if applicable).
