This exceptional collection, the oldest to survive intact, contains a wide diversity of form and material including faience, porcelain, enamel, horn, glass, marble, ivory wood, mother-of-pearl/brass, amber, agate, semi-precious stones, iron, and silver. The text, in German and English, includes an essay on the evolution of eating habits from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
