Text -Und Bildheft Octavo 8vo handbook in grey/blue card cover wraps with black title lettering to the upper cover present with seperate booklet of street plans and folding maps of various towns and cities in North West France including Nantes,Cherbourg,Coutances,Vitre,Fecamp Orleans and many more.All in black and white apart from one large general folding map of the area.Together with some 9 large coloured folding maps.These are fascinating Second World War Military Geographical and Topographical handbooks with accompanying maps that were prooduced by the General Staff ''Nur Fur Den Dienstgebrauch'' For Official Use Only with this one of North West France stamped '' For Official Use Only '' on the card cover slip-case.The contents involved covers various aspects with photographs pland of cities and towns with Coastal charts,fortifications and some of the Countries covered contain Aerial Photographic maps.The individual maps mostly tend to show road and rail communications,Industrial areas and other aspects of transport including river and canal systems or Power Stations,Ports etc.It forms a fascinating and comprehensive work undertaken by the German Authorities to assist with their Military planning and decision making.The work was produced at varying dates but was concentrated mostly during the early War Years.This is a genuinely rare item of Second World War Military Intelligence with the condition of the maps being in excellent condition.The contents are held within a purpose made blue card cover slip-case which has some rubbing and tears plus wear to edges of folds etc..
