Dear Mrs ------, Please forgive a brief note, ------I've been worried by eyestrain these days. Many thanks for your letter and invitation. It's six years now since I gave my,last lecture, talk, reading, etc. What time is left me I devote to writing only. But I thank you for your invitation. May your campaign be a success.
