Originally the SS Kronprinz Wilhelm, the USS Von Steuben (ID-3017), was a twin-screw, steam passenger ship built and operated by Germany, which was commandeered by the United States at the start of WWI and renamed, then serving as a US troop transport during the hostilities. The ship was active from 1901 - 1923, at which time she was scrapped. We here offer a very rare WWI era newspaper from this vessel, filled with 'local' ship news; no copies located on OCLC, nor found in the Union List of Serials [3rd edition].
