Chicago:, Calumet Book & Engraving Co.,, 1895. 2nd edition. Illustrated with full-page engraved portraits, many with tissue-guards; index. 11 x 8 3/4. Full, tooled leather with gilt title and decoration on front cover and spine. Floral end papers and all edges are gilt. It has been professionally recased. Some scuffing of the leather, but the gilt is bright. It is tight and the contents are Very Good to Near Fine. A big beautiful book of excellent portraits of the Presidents and some of the famous and notable people of Chicago at the turn of the 19th century. A valuable book for the engravings and for the historical and genealogical information.
