As as officer in the 1st Cavalry Division during 1976/8 he saw combat in some of the fiercest encounters of the war.His gallantry earned him a fistful of medals, including the Silver Star, one of the highest decorations awarded by the American Army.During his time there he was captured and tortured by the Vietcong and he managed to escaped.On his return to the UK he married, became a father and started a successful career in business.It seemed that his past was behind him, until 30 years later when a trivial encounter with the police set off a catastrophic chain of events.He lost everything and in tyring to rebuild his life he once more had to confront the traumatic events of Vietnam he had buried so deep.
