A young woman in an interior, engaged in some needle-work (borduurwerk), gazes at the bird on the right, standing atop its opened cage. Addressed on bottom: 'G. Metsu P. / Greenwoud F. // t'Amsterdam by P. Fouquet, Junior'. Mezzotint on paper, with margins; plate mark: 358 x 267 mm, total: 385 x 285 mm; state II/2, Wurzbach 18. Small stains on the top margin and fold in the middle, probably due to pinching of paper in the printing process; refined impression.
