Warsaw, Berlin, Tel-Aviv, New York, 1927-1950. Library-stamp on titles. Clothbound. Hebrew quarterly, later annual, devoted mainly to Hebrew literature. The first four volumes, edited by David Frischmann, were published in Moscow. Following the suppression of Hebrew in Russia the editor moved to Warsaw, where he published vols. 5-15. After his death in 1922 he was succeeded by Y. Cahan and F. Lachower. Vols. 24-27 were published in Berlin, and ed. by B. Katz, S. Tschernikovski and S. Rawidowicz (1928-1930). Vols. 28-29 were edited by Y. Cahan and publ. in Tel Aviv (1936). Vols. 30-35, ed. by E. Silberschlag and A. Zeitlin, were publ. in New York (1946-1950). 'Ha-Tekufah is a treasure trove of Hebrew literature of all genres, including belle-lettres by many of the leading writers of the time' (Enc. Jud. vol. 7, p. 1469). In the present set vols. 1-23 are available in the reissued edition, published in Warsaw and Berlin.
