Augusta Decharneux - Dessin Lingerie IIme Année

1920; 8vo, ¶ This is not a book, but a series of drawings, made by a pupil of a sewing school or institute. The 12 drawings (each 16 x 26 cm.) were made in the years 1920-1921, and portray designs for baby-jackets, lacings (in great detail) and dresses which are lightly coloured. All patterns are drawn and coloured by hand, and Augusta must have been a very good pupil, for most of the time she gets 4.8 points out of five for her designs. I presume these drawings were made in the south of the Netherlands, where in those years still French was spoken, most certainly at conventschools, or in Belgium. The paper is a bit stiff, good quality, off-white paper; the wrapping is from soft carton and decorated with an old photograph of a little boy and girl, and the word `Dessin' in gold, which has turned more of less black. Really a very special item.
