Uniform quarter cloth over pattered boards. Gilt title on the spines. Published in the series, Biolologiske Meddelelser of the Det. Kgl. Danske Vid. Selskabernes Seldskab. Very uncommon set, comprising the first three volumes; volume III itself being divided in three parts, viz. I (1927) Bangiales and Nemalionales; II (1929) Cryptonemiales, Gigartinales and Rhodymeniales; III (1930) Ceramiales. The second volume was published in 1926. A fourth volume, on Cyanophyceae, was published in 1936 and -although far more common - is not included. The text is in English, but for some odd reason the plate captions are in French. Provenance: Westfield college, with their bookplate on the front pastedowns, stamp on titles, last text pages, and pocket on rear pastedowns. Otherwise very good, nicely bound and clean.
