White linen cloth stamped in gilt with horizontal wrap-around design of stylized poppies, with Sarah Wyman Whitman's signature paraphe (her initials within a drooping heart) at back panel, letter in gilt on spines. Illustrated with the frontispiece portrait of the author in volume I, and half-tone photographs and decorated head-pieces throughout. Some soiling to covers. Some staining to margin of first thirty leaves of volume II. Good.
