First edition, small 4to, pp. [2], 129; 6 lithograph plates (2 hand- colored and 1 folding); a bit of foxing in the margins, but in all a very good copy in later 19th century brown cloth-backed marbled boards, paper label lettered in ink on spine. A book by a resident of Jena describing the reaction of the city having been caught between Napoleon's army and the Prussian army as the battle neared. After the decisive defeat of Prussia in October 1806 the town suffered fires and looting, and also cared for wounded soldiers. The last part of the book describes the elaborate events when Napoleon invited the Russian emperor, and the Kings of Bavaria, Saxony, Wurttemberg, and the Prussian Crown Prince to the celebration on the second anniversary of his victory. University of Marberg is the only copy listed in OCLC.
