The first edition, second impression of this novel; containing the name 'Mr Quin Savory' on pages 77, 78, 82, 98 and 131, as opposed to the first printing's 'Q.C. Savory&apos. Stamboul Train was Greene's second significant novel and first true success. It is set on a train journey from Ostend to Istanbul and was renamed 'Orient Express' when published in the United States. The novel is described as a classic espionage thriller that communicates a sense of unease. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart with a some light marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Rear hinge is a little strained. Light markings to the extremities. 'Book Society' book plate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with some light spotting/marks throughout. Good .
