A first edition copy of Romesh Gunesekera's 'Monkfish Moon', containing a collection of short stories centering on the political and ethnic tensions in Sri Lanka. Born in Colombo, Romesh Gunesekera first grew up in Sri Lanka and the Philippines before moving to England in 1971. 'Monkfish Moon' was Gunesekera's first work and was shortlisted for several notable rizes, and was named a 'New York Times Notable Book' in for 1993. Encouraged by the reception to this text, Gunesekera went on to write his novel Reef, that led to him becoming a finalist for the Man Booker Prize in 1994. This copy is complete with its original unclipped dustwrapper, designed by 'the Senate&apos. In a black cloth binding in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, in a lovely condition.
