Sa Vie et Ses Oeuvres' by Adolphe Jullien Published in Paris by la Librairie de l'Art, 1888. There are 14 ORIGINAL black and white lithographs by Fantin-Latour. In addition, there are three other excellent full page plates, 122 fine text and full page black and white illustrations recounting Berlioz's life and works. Many are caricatures of Berlioz and the characters in his operas and his life, also letters, programs, etc. It is bound in full dark blue leather with gilt stamping to spine and decorative tooling inside the cover.The binding is signed by 'Sotherans & Co. London'. The leather has worn a little along edges and at hinges , esepcially on front top hinge. There is some foxing throughout, all tissue guards present some with small tears. It is slightly thumbed throughout, there are remnants of an old ex libris having been removed, otherwise a very nice copy. Size 33 x 24cm. Good./No Jacket.
