Mostly clean interior, no names, no writing, only a smattering of darkening along hinges + a very few, very small smudges to ffep as well as a few early pages (title page barely affected at all). Exterior clean, gilt just a little rubbing & just a little darkening, corners bumped, spine rolls forward. Minor bend-wrinkling to area near lower edge of front cover with a bit of associated cracking within to front pastedown. Dated by list of titles facing the tp. Publisher's catalogue last 16 pages of the book. Story of Augustine Robinson and his debt problems. Title taken from Browning quote "I was the man the Duke spoke to." , Very Good.
