GREGORY, JACKSON - THE ISLAND OF ALLURE

Grosset & Dunlap, copyrights noted as 1927,1928. 1928. Hardcover with dust jacket. Hardback, dark blue on bright orange boards, 298 pages, VG to VG+ in like dj (dj in new protective mylar). Early reprint in quite nice condition. DJ has very light chipping at spine ends + dj spine very slightly faded & very lightly soiled. Front and back dj panels show only extremely light amount of wear/soiling. Illustrated upper board, illustrated title page (palm trees, both). Top edges stained blue. Bottom edges show dime-sized moisture stain that doesn't affect the margins within. Lower board shows a little spotty fading (foxing) along joint and at lower corner. Risque dj art (signed RR, the first R being backwards) is in 3 colors (dark and light blue + orange) and shows a sailboat entering a sheltered bay, with a young woman, hand on hip, with flowing hair, watching from a distance beneath a palm tree. It's kind of a side-view of the woman who seems to be wrapped in native garb only from the waist down. Very Good/Very Good. Signed by Author.
