Original limp boards, uncut. 1775. First edition. This work consists of two parts, an introduction to both the elements of music and to keyboard accompaniment. His observations on the proper method of teaching singing aroused vigorous opposition from G.B. Mancini. In the second edition of 1797 there were new sections on singing and counterpoint. Manfredini (1737-99) spent 11 years in Russia rising to become Maestro of the Imperial Court's Italian Opera; Later he was relegated from this position, becoming among other things, harpsichord teacher to Paul Petrovitch, heir to the throne and dedicatee of this work.
