Holland is a charming city on the west side of the state, on the shores of Lake Michigan. It was settled in 1847 by Dutch Calvinist separatists, under the leadership of Dr. Albertus van Raalte. Harsh economic conditions in the Netherlands forced them to emigrate, while their desire for religious freedom led them to unite and settle together as a group. Famous for its annual tulip festival every spring.. Very Good+ .
