Leonard Baskin ( 1922 – 2000) the son of a rabbi, was an American sculptor, book-illustrator, wood-engraver, printmaker, graphic artist, writer and teacher. His public commissions include a bas relief for the impressive Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington DC and a bronze statue of a seated figure, erected in 1994 at the Holocaust Memorial in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Many museums hold works by him.
