 1535486495,
Milano, Corriere Della Sera, 1932. First Edition. Newspaper. The set includes fifty-two issues. The Corriere dei Piccoli, founded in 1908 by Silvio Spaventa Filippi, is considered the first comic published in Italy. Among the characters appearing in these issues are il Signor Bonaventura by Sergio Tofano, Sor Pampurio by Carlo Bisi, and some of the most important American strips of the era including Jiggs and Maggie (Arcibaldo e Petronilla) by George McManus, The Captain and the Kids (Bibì e Bibò) by Rudolph Dirks, Felix the Cat (Mio Mao) by Pat Sullivan. Illustrations by Antonio Rubino, Carlo Bisi, Bruno Angoletta, and many others. Profusely illustrated and including many stories, articles and more. Condition varies from fair to very good- with toning to pages, chipping to edges, tears and creases. Five issues have names in pencil on the last page. More details as follows: #3 has a long tear to first page; #8 has a long tear to last page; #14 shows some foxing throughout; #17 was folded incorrectly; #24 is missing a sheet; the first sheet of #39 is completely split at spine; #47, 48 and 52 show heavier wear. Complete sets of the earlier years are becoming increasingly hard to find. Undoubtedly, an important piece of Italian comic history. ; Folio. .
