WRIGHT ADAM.: - As You Like It Polka.

London, Robert Cocks. c 1870. With a superb colour lithograph cover by Alfred Concanen of a scene from the play as Orlando explains to the Duke as the two young women Rosalind and Phoebe look on. It is probably the last scene of the play and is likely to be portraits of notable actors of the period . I have two other pieces by this composer Adam Wright , who sadly remains obscure but seems to have worked always for publisher Robert Cocks. . Alfred Concanen(1835-86) is considered to be the very best lithographic artist of the middle period, especially of music hall material. He first worked with Lee as in this case and later just with both Thomas Lee & Siebe Folio size with music There is a music publishers date of U/L/G which I take to be2 1/12/ 70.Folio size with music . Trimmed along the Main title else, which is nevertheless just readable else condition Good.
