RYDE & ALDRIDGE.: - Dermot & Kathleen .

London, T.E. Purday of St Pauls Churchyard . ( c 1855). With an ornate gold and green lithograph front cover by the rare lithographer Bowcher of Newman Street London. Sadly the lyric writer Henry John Ryde and composer W.H. Aldridge remain obscure save that Ryde was also selling this song from his home in Clapham and also a song The Ingleside music by Aldridge and lyric by the noted mid Victorian poet Eliza Cook. The publisher Thomas Edward Purday operated from 1834-62 at that address. The lithographer Bowcher worked around 1850 according to Parkinson (Victorian Music Publishers) Folio size with music. Condition very good.
