Presents the original descriptions of two new herpetological species both illustrated on one fine hand-colored plate; also included is a note on the internal anatomy of the American crocodile now known as Crocodylus acutus. The hand-colored image of Elaps diastema is brilliantly colored. This work also contains the description of a new tick species, Ixodes herrerae. The text is in Spanish. Originally from the library of Karl P. Schmidt with his signature on the front page. Later from the library of George Sprague Myers with his circular name stamp. Rare work. Faint browning to the margins of some text pages; a clean copy in very good condition..
