Leeds,1800. Third edition, Leeds, printed by Thomas Gill for John Smith, and sold by F. & C. Rivington and others, 1800. 8vo, 170 x 100 mm, 6¾ x 4 inches, engraved frontispiece by C. Livesy after W. Wade, pages iv, 87, rebound nicely in quarter calf, marbled sides, gilt dividing lines, 2 raised bands to spine, gilt rules and lettering, new endpapers. A little water-colour has been applied at some time to the fins on the frontispiece, slight offsetting from frontispiece onto title page, a little brown spotting to fore-edge of title page, also slightly affecting following 3 pages, minute nick to lower edge of title page, tiny closed tear to lower edge of frontispiece, pages slightly age-toned, 2 small pale brown stains affecting 4 pages, binding tight and firm. A very good copy. First published in 1786, It includes chapters on rods, lines, landing nets, trout, salmon, fly-fishing and fly-dressing, angling at night, and flood-fishing.
