An underground newspaper from Lawrence, Kansas, created to "provide a voice for the movement community," (from the editors). It published 9 issues before merging with the local Screw newspaper to become Vortex. Reconstruction tended to focus mostly on social justice and anti-war activities, with a slight inclination toward the counterculture. This issue with several pieces on student protests/rioting at Kansas State University, including the heavy handed police response; a short piece on Black activist and minister John Swomly; a several page interview with Andy Rollins, a KSU student described as a "Black militant." This may be Reverend Andy Rollins, a minister and author. GOOD condition. Church mailing label, stamp, handwritten 3rd class, and cancellation on the lower front cover. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. Light soiling. Four inch tear at the center of the lower front cover. Several chips and tears present along the extremities, with a few minor creases. Good .
