Black wraps. 155 pp. A single issue of this hand set, hand bound and hand printed little magazine, inspired by the work of D.H. Lawrence and seeking to carry on his ideas in writing. The magazine had an anti-mechanical or industrial editorial slant, and was against World War II, seeing it as a product of the machine age (see Hoffman, The Little Magazine, pp. 184-186). This issue featuring a "Letter from Germany" by D.H. Lawrence; "Via Dieppe-Newhaven," by Henry Miller; "Big Fiddle," by Kay Boyle, etc. FAIR condition. Heavy chipping and loss to the wrapper along the spine. Minor fading, creasing and soiling to the wrappers. Moderate chipping, tearing and creasing along the extremities. Faint dampstain affecting the lower gutter/margins of the pages throughout. Moderate toning to the paper. Good .

Return policy:
