Printed white wraps in light green clothbound folders in matching slipcases. 185, 165 pp. Black and white illustrations, often erotic in nature, of nude or semi-nude women. All text in French. A novel originally appearing anonymously in 1742, presenting a satirical and slightly erotic tale of the soul of a young man condemned to inhabit a couch or sofa until two virgin lovers consumated their relationship on him. Through this tale, Crebillon satirizes many of the upper class in France at that time. Crebillon had to go into exile for a time due to the appearance of this work. VERY GOOD books in about very good cases. Some soiling to the spine of volume 2. Minor toning. Slipcases and folders very faded along the spines, with minor rubbing. Cloth frayed along the extremities. Very Good .

Wherever possible, we ship using first class international for $25.00, or the flat rate priority envelope through the US Post which costs $35.00. Return policy:
Any book may be returned within 30 days of receipt for refund of book price. Buyer responsible for return shipping. For books misdescribed, or for wrong books sent, or any other errors on our part, we will refund book price plus return cost of shipping.
