Drawn from Greek, Roman, Spanish, Italian, German and Eastern books, this work presents a selection of jokes and jests from various countries, both for amusement and education. Preceded by an introduction discussing the sources of the jests, as well as tastes in various countries (asserting most of the jokes from Germany were dull). Compiled by John Pinkerton, a Scottish scholar, cartographer and numismatist. POOR/FAIR condition. Both covers DETACHED. Heavy scuffing to the leather along the extremities. Spine flaking, chipped and worn. General darkening. Several owner's notations and names in the front, with an old bookseller catalog description glued in on an endpaper. Scattered foxing throughout. A few stray pencil lines in the text. Poor/No Jacket.

We will ship the book upon receipt of payment.
We charge a media ship rate of $4.50 for the first book plus $2.00 per each additional books. We ship internationally with the US post office. Shipping rates provided upon request based on the country of receipt. Wherever possible, we ship using first class international for $25.00, or the flat rate priority envelope through the US Post which costs $35.00. This is subject to change based on country being shipped to or size of book, so please contact to confirm rate.

Return policy:
Any book may be returned within 30 days of receipt for refund of book price. Buyer responsible for return shipping. For books misdescribed, or for wrong books sent, or any other errors on our part, we will refund book price plus return cost of shipping.
