Black and white illustrations throughout. An apparent promotional magazine issued by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company commemorating 100 years of 'progress.' This features a lengthy history of the railroad, chronicling its establishment of rail lines throughout the Midwest and western United States. With an account of a hold up by Jesse James and the James Gang, 'Lot Jumping' by Oklahoma City pioneers and other historical anecdotes involving the railroad. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company opened its first line in 1854, and subsequently established many other lines until folding in 1980. GOOD condition. General toning, with minor foxing to the covers. Light scattered soiling. Some creasing and curling to the covers. Good .
