Salem, Capital Printing Co, 1897. Original Wraps. Original illustrated wraps. 98 pages. With a few black and white illustrations. A supposedly true account of the captivity of Lillian Ainsley and the efforts to find her with the Native American tribe that held her. FAIR condition. Two scuff marks/loss of outer layer of paper, affecting a ½ inch area in the center front cover. This has resulted in some loss of illustration in that area. Several small jagged puncture marks to the lower center front cover, closer to the fore edge. This was repaired by previous owner with paper on the interior. Moderate to heavy fading, mostly along the extremities. Minor soiling and mostly minor scuffing to the wraps. Spine with some scuffs and creasing. Small tear to the upper center rear wrap. Moderate dampstain affecting the rear cover fore edge, slightly visible in the interior, affecting the fore edges of the last several pages. Puncture marks present on the first few pages to the title page. Moderate to heavy darkening to the interior. Fair .
