OCLC records indicate this may have been published in 1871, although ads in the rear suggest this book was issued to in anticipation of the centenary of 1798, so perhaps indicating a date closer to 1898. An apparent reprint excerpting several chapters of an 1869 two volume work on the history of Ireland, by Mitchel. An in depth look at the history of Ireland, focusing on the Irish Rebellion of 1798 and devoting much attention to the actions of the Church in Ireland. In POOR/FAIR condition. Front wrapper DETACHED, with heavy chipping and tearing along its extremities. A 1 by 1 ½ inch piece of the wrapper is missing from the lower fore edge. Rear wrap chipped along the extremities, with a 1 ½ by 2 ½ triangular piece missing from the upper corner and a smaller triangular piece missing from the lower corner. Moderate to heavy fading, minor soiling and some creasing to the wraps. Two previous bookseller stickers present, one at the top of the front cover and one obscuring publisher information on the lower title page. Interior solid with heavy browning to the pages. Poor .
