Brown cloth with gilt lettering and blue and gilt pictorial and decorative stamping. 235pp. Tissue-guarded frontispiece, 7 called-for full-page plates. Very good. Faint edgewear and corner bumping. A tight and nice first edition of the second title in the "St. Timothy's" series begun in 1904 and continuing through at least 1930. Pier (1874-1966) served on the editorial staff of "Youth's Companion," where many of his stories were first published before appearing in hardbound form. .
