Second volume only, eighth printing, of this 2-volume historical novel, entirely in German, whose titles translates "In the Forge: A Novel of Old Nuremberg." A superb copy, internally fine. Ebers (1837-98) was a German writer and historical novelist whose works set in ancient Egypt contributed hugely to the craze for all things Egyptian of the late 19th century. .
