WEBBER, H.G. (?-?) - Printed Document Signed

 1554312679,
This lieutenant adjutant served with the Seventh New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry, which served from 1861 through 1865 and served with the Department of the South in Florida and South Carolina. Printed "Circular," 4pp, 5" X 8", Hilton Head, SC, 1863 January 26. Very good. Brigadier General Truman Seymour issued these three pages of detailed notes regarding how to keep proper muster rolls, since "The Muster Rolls of this Command [are] exhibiting numerous irregularities and errors." The first page of this 4-page lettersheet is the "cover letter," noting simply that "The within Circular is promulgated for the guidance of officers within the Department." This is issued "By Command of Maj. Gen. David Hunter," whose name appears in type at lower right, along with the name in type of his assistant adjutant general. At lower left Webber signs boldly in full in rich brown ink, penning below this his title, "Lt. Adjutant 7th regt. N.H. Vols." Unusual and interesting. .
