TURUNEN, Martti (1902-79) - Inscribed Photograph Signed Noted Finnish conductor and choral composer whose group Ylioppilas Laulajat toured the U.S. in the early 1930s. IPS, 7 3/4" X 10", n.p. n.y. Good plus. Nice glossy head-and-shoulders portrait of this young Charles Laughton lookalike in suit and tie. On the matte finish mount, which is moderately age toned, he boldly inscribed and signs along the bottom: "To Mr. Richard Copley / Sincerely yours / Martti Turunen" in black ink. A small crack at lower left, crossing Turunen's lest name, has been expertly, archivally mended. Copley (1876-1939) was a well-known New York concert manager. .
