SHAW, Albert (editor) - The American Review of Reviews: May, 1930

New York, The Review of Reviews Corporation, 1930. Paperback. (Vol. LXXXI, No. 5). Small 4to. Stiff yellow wrappers. 148pp. Numerous illustrations and advertisements, including color rear cover ad for "Lucky Strike" cigarettes. Very good. Minor shelfwear and soiling -- overall tight and attractive. Contents include John J. Carty's "Science, the Soul of Prosperity," F.B. Jewett's "John J. Carty," Frank H. Simonds' "What Was Wrong at London?," Walter V. Woehlke's "Don't Drive Out the Mexicans" and Merryle Stanley Rukeyser's "Why Prosperity Will Return." Discrete ex-library, the only markings being a couple of slight inkstampings. Editor-journalist-historian Shaw (born 1857) founded this long-running monthly in 1891, and it pursued a broad agenda covering U.S. and world political, economic and social issues for decades. .
