First edition of this unusual memoir that includes the author's four years as a guest of the German military. Strange half-legible, nonsensical and hardly-transcribable author inscription (signed simply "Spasa") on the half-title page, dated 8 August Laid in is a photocopy of an irate letter from Voynovich to the publishers, complaining about and listing typograpical errors. .
