Presentation copy inscribed on September 6, 1959 to D.W. Brogan, "To Professor D.W. Brogan with grateful messages from the author and from Nicky Mariano." This insrciption is preceded by another inscription to Brogan probably in Berenson's hand and in Italian. Of course, Nicky Mariano was the longtime associate of Berenson's, the editor of is works, and the author of Forty Years with Berenson. Uncommon in any condition and particularly so as a presentation copy in the original Italian edition. VG/Very Good.
