Exeter: Featherstone, Lithographer, [1849] Handbill, 265 x 185 mm. trimmed to shape. William Cooke was a third generation acrobat, equestrian and circus proprietor, the business having been started by his grandfather Thomas Cooke in around 1780. The family tradition continued until around 1912.
