ST PANCRAS ASSOCIATION - Economy, Efficiency, Humanity. St Pancras Association. Ward No. 2. [Address] To the Ratepayers of Ward 2.

May 1st, 1858. 4 pages, 240 x 195 mm. inner hinge taped. This item may have at some time been mounted and will bear traces on the reverse of adhesive or removal of mounts. After a number of years "the Old Party, who for many years had directed and controlled the affairs of the Parish, and were responsible for the state of things then existing, strenuously opposed the New Party...On that occasion however the candidates proposed for this Ward by the New Party were elected." The Old Party accused the New of "extravagance" and "The Parish is in Debt". However this circular rebuts all claims and gives a direct comparison between the last two years of the Old Party and the first two years of the New Party showing that the Vestry rates payable were actually 4d three farthing in the pound less!!
