Bound in period red gilt calf, full gilt edges, marble endpapers. Calf scuffed and marked, [ at some time both bindings have been repaired ] spines relaid, with loss, hinge joints on volume 2 weak but holding. Generally attractive period bindings. Internally, pages and plates clean. A good clean set, in attractive but worn bindings.
